Two of the same kind

Putting the same kind together is a dilemma. It will either turn out very right or, very wrong. I'm glad I took the risk. Because apparently, they seem to be able to clique. They could understand & more importantly, tolerate each other. It was an interesting sight. The entire 90 mins was filled with LOTS of bickering, sarcasm and of course, vicious laughter from me. I was laughing at them and not with them. haha. I've tried hard to control but i failed. The atmosphere was just too hilarious. Amendment to my previous entry; laughter is the ultimate true stress reliever. for everyone. =)

SAY YES - CHAGE and ASKA

My favourite song since i was 8. Ultimately, music is still the greatest stress reliever. :)

A special encounter

But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong.

Indeed God has chosen the weak to shame the strong. He has chosen my boy to show me the meaning of perseverance and courage. After years of distress, he is still fighting strong and hard. If I were to be in his position, I guess I could not have been as strong. I would be escaping and retreating. He certainly has every right to do so. But he didn't. He chose to move on. Nick Vujicic once said this, "Whatever God can't change, He would use." Indeed God has used his circumstance to build me up.

Today i saw a different side of my boy. A him that is so different from the emotion-less boy i used to know. Frankly, i tried hard to fight back my tears. It wasn't tears of misery nor sympathy, it was tears of admiration and joy- to know that God fights with and for him. Now i look forward to the value of my work and the reality of it. I have often misjudged that I am the bless-er and my boys are the recipients. But in fact, they are the true bless-ers of my life.

Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are those who mourn,
for they will be comforted.
Blessed are the pure in heart,
for they will see God.

This week is crazy.. to the max. 7.00 to 6.00 fr mon-thu. 7.00 to 10.00 for friday.
I've yet to enjoy the privilege of knocking off punctually at 1.50 pm.
So what's the dispute? To me, it's still the same larrs.

Anyway, I'm beginning to talk like my student. Even he himself cant stand me.

"Why're you talking like this?", he asked.
"Well, to speak your lingo. So that you can understand me better." i replied.

As usual, he laughed gleefully with a shrug. So cute.. fdor a 15 year old, 1.75 metres teen.

Anyway, catered food is getting more and more atrocious. But i'd no choice, do i? Going out for lunch with the fear of meltdowns isn't enjoying at all. Just hope the next 6 months will be a breeze, truly praying hard.

.....yet after all these rants, I'm still proud of my profession. I guess like what peh said, it's the inner satisfaction. Yes, I'm truly satisfied.. emotionally, mentally and spiritually. =) More imptly, it is a profession where I'm strengthed by Him every moment, everyday. It just awes me to see Him creating every little miracle. Thanks for being there, God.

For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

Welcoming 2009

2008 has been a good year. But i wish it can be better. Lots of blessings from God. From family to Barnabas to my work, everything has been well taken care. But there's just a missing piece. I guess it hasn't been a good Sabbath for me. Apart from the first 2 months, I didn't do much quiet time.

ANYWAYS! I've decided to make a difference this year. Started the year right & good with God's word. Every morning before work, I'd read TGIF and pray for the 3Ps - God's protection, provision and presence. It really worked.. i overcame the first week of school!!

Just like students, teachers have monday blues too. I was feeling dreadful and depressed last Sunday. Not because I've lost passion in my work, but rather, the fear of meeting expectations & working with new teachers was just to overwhelming. I wasn't mentally and emotionally ready for the challenge. I prayed and it was so much better. I began Monday morning with a hopeful & happy heart. That really made a difference. I could see that despite the heavy workload, i was still able to stay steadfast. Indeed the bible is so true, "He (God) took care of them (His followers) on
every side" (2 Chronicles 32:22).
